Amec's £680m sale of Spie, its French division, is likely to hasten the disposal of Amec's other two subsidiary businesses, it has been reported. It is believed that the nuclear and contracting divisions may now be targeted by rival engineering and construction groups or by buyout firms. Amec may float or sell its infrastructure arm in the UK.
