BHP Billington, one of the worlds largest mining groups, is preparing a bid for Drax, the UK's biggest power station. The coal fired power station is being auctioned off by creditors. The generator buys £250m a year of coal and accounts for about one third of the revenues of UK Coal, Britain's largest supplier.
