Cobham has signalled it is putting its Westwind semiconductor machinery unit up for sale as it announced plans to streamline its operations. Westwind is expected to lose about £500,000 on sales of about £18m. This compares with a peak of £3m profits on turnover of £30m in 2001. Dresner Kleinwort and Benson have said that the unit might be worth £10m-£15m
