Compair, the UK-based compressed air system supplier, has been put on the market by its owner Alchemy Partners.
Alchemy, the UK-based private equity group, has hired investment bank NM Rothschild to advise on the sale. Alchemy has set an asking price of £200m for Compair.
Invensys, the UK-listed engineering group, retains an 18% stake, having sold the majority stake to Alchemy five years ago. Alchemy took control of Compair in 2002, but has since transformed the formerly loss-making business, which posted £247m in sales and £11m profits for 2007.
