Heywood Williams, the maker of plastic windows and doors, has received early approaches from individuals keen to take the struggling business private in a deal which could be worth up to £200m. Venture capital firms which are believed to be interested include Bridgepoint, Alchemy, 3i and Mercury Private Equity. The company is also planning to sell off remaining non-core businesses in a bid to improve performance.
