Holiday Supplies, the Southport-based travel company with about 20 staff, has been acquired by Kuoni of Switzerland for more than £12m.
Holiday Supplies was established in 1972 and specialises in escorted holidays to long-haul destinations including New Zealand, China and the Galapagos Islands. The company operates under the brand names Journey's of Distinction, Cruise Options and Go Touring. The management team and all employees will remain with the business, which will become a subsidiary of Kuoni UK. Sue Biggs, Managing Director of Kuoni UK commented on the acquisition: “We’re very excited about this new addition to the Kuoni UK family, particularly as Journeys of Distinction is such a well respected specialist tour operator.” Holiday Supplies was advised by Halliwells of Liverpool, while Kuoni was advised by Baker & McKenzie, London.
