Independent News & Media has appointed corporate finance group Lazard to assess its options for its main newspaper title The Independent. One option would be to sell the loss-making newspaper. There is speculation that INM has received expressions of interest for the title. As yet Lazard does not have a formal mandate to sell the title, according to reports.
