National Grid Transco (NGT) is seeking to dispose of its eight gas pipeline netorks in a bid to raise up to £5 billion. NGT has appointed Morgan Stanley and Rothschild to sound out likely bidders for the networks - Scotland, North East, North West, Wales & South West, West Midlands, East of England, London and South & South West. Any sale is contingent upon approval from Ofgem, the industry regulator.
