The company behind price comparison website seeus2save.com has entered administration. Mark Getliffe and Diane Hill at accountancy firm CLB Coopers have been hired as the administrators. Anthony Donald Evans (ADE), whose owner Tony Evans had ambitious growth plans which involved expanding his 100-strong workforce to 150 in a matter of months, traded online as seeus2save.com and also ran an insurance brokers. The company had moved to a 10,000 sq. ft. office space in a business park in Kirby at the end of 2009, a move in which Mr Evans had invested £500,000. Up to 40 jobs were cut in October, leaving only ten staff when ADE entered administration, it was reported. Customer complaints had been received relating to the insurance side of the business, and had been subject to adverse publicity on blogs and online forums concerned with its terms and conditions. Mr Getliffe explained the potential dangers in dealing with insurance via the internet. Insurance contracts require a great deal of care and attention and details may be missed by the customer, who may not read the terms and conditions thoroughly enough before arriving at the check out page. “Anthony Donald Evans Limited set itself an aggressive policy of writing insurance business at a low cost, but with higher charges if the policyholder did not validate the information they needed to after the cover note was issued.” “We are working through matters with the relevant parties.”
