Vivendi Universal, the media group, has put Oddbins, the chain of high street off licences, up for sale. Potential buyers include First Quench, a company owned by Nomura that includes the Thresher and Victoria Wines chains, as well as J Sainsbury and Parisa, another off licence chain. Vivendi has already agreed to sell its entire Seagram drinks business but this deal is not expected to go ahead until later this year.
