EDF is on the verge of buying British Energy, the nuclear power company. EDF has indicated that once the deal goes through it will give back two of its main nuclear sites to the Government for auction. Dungeness and Bradwell are expected to be put together as part of a package along with some sites that include decommissioned nuclear facilities. It is hoped that with more companies involved in rebuilding nuclear power stations the Government will be able to replace its ageing sites more quickly. ...
