Plans to sell the Adare Printing Group, the UK printing company owned by the Irish private equity firm Allen McGuire & Partners, are not going well, according to sources tracking the process. One source said that it was their understanding that the vendors would be looking to break the business up now that no suitable buyer had emerged for the business as a whole. However, another source questioned the efficacy of doing so given that the business is relatively small. A spokesperson for Lazard, the investment bank that has been retained to advise Adare on its strategic options, declined to comment. A person who worked at Allen McGuire would only confirm that Lazard had been retained to conduct a strategic review. She would not confirm that a sale process had taken place nor was she aware of any plans to break the business up.
