Avery Weigh-Tronix, the UK weighing-scale manufacturer, is for sale with a £100m price tag. Baird, the US investment bank has been hired as adviser on the deal, which could be clinched early in the new year, according to a company spokesman. The company, which owns Salter and eight other businesses, is already in talks with possible suitors.
