Azzurri, the Newbury-based data communications company with offices in Fareham, High Wycombe, Leeds, Kingston, Hull, Burnley, Birmingham and East Kilbride, has been acquired by PPM Capital for £182m. Azzurri was formed in 2000, when 3i invested £25m for a majority stake. It has made 15 acquisitions since, and aims to create a major national telecoms player.
