BAE Systems, the UK-listed defence and engineering group, has put its £300m valued aircraft business up for sale, according to reports in the press. BAE is quietly scouting for buyers for the business, which the company has decided is non-core, the reports have said. A BAE spokesperson said that although the business is viable, it is non-core and worth more to another company than to BAE. No advisers have yet been appointed for the sale, although it is believed BAE has already contacted prospective bidders.
