Baglan going up for sale later this year
10/03/2008
GE Energy, a division of General Electric, will sell its power station, Baglan Bay, later on this year. GE Energy UK's new managing director, Magued Eldaief, said the improved market conditions expected in the latter part of this year will make the sale much easier.Baglan Bay, based in South Wales, has been valued at £500m. The power plant is due to undergo a maintenence programme before the sale, which is expected to increase its value. It is most likely that Lexicon Partners will mange the auction of the gas-fired power plant. Lexicon advised GE Energy on a planned sale last year, before GE Energy called a halt to the auction. The reasons for this withdrawal were not made public.
