The BBC's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, is poised to approve a radical restructuring plan involving the sale of at least five businesses and a 10 per cent cut in overheads. Worldwide's 10-member board is soon due to approve the plan, leading to several hundred job losses and disposals of non-core businesses such as audio books and educational publishing. The disposal proceeds are estimated to reach £350m.
