Macfarlane Group is to acquire Bloomfield Supplies, the Gloucester-based packaging distributor with 22 staff, for up to £2m. Glasgow-based Macfarlane will pay an initial £1.5m, with the remainer to be paid by the end of 2007, subject to the company meeting agreed targets for the year to 30th September 2007. Peter Atkinson, chief executive at Macfarlane commented: "I am delighted to welcome Colin Griffiths and the team at Bloomfield Supplies Limited to Macfarlane Group. Bloomfields is a good business and there are benefits for both Bloomfields and Macfarlane as we work closer together".
