BOC Edwards' equipment business, which is up for sale, is expected to fetch a price around EUR 500m to EUR 600m. BOC Edwards' equipment business is part of BOC Edwards, which itself is a subsidiary of BOC. According to a Linde press release, the equipment businesses' total revenues were approximately EUR 800m for the financial year ending September 2005. A German industry source said margins in the vacuum pumps business would tend to decline due to stronger competition, and believed that EUR 500m would be a fair price.
