Countrywide Assured, Britain's biggest estate agency chain, is aiming to raise up to £100m by selling or demerging its closed life insurance business, it disclosed yesterday. The company said it is talking to four potential buyers about a trade sale. If the business is sold, the proceeds will be returned to Countrywide shareholders, it said.
