DaimlerChrysler, the German car manufacturer, has hinted that its Chrysler division could be put up for sale less than a month after inisisting that it was a core business. Daimler's finance director Bodo Uebber refused to discount the possibility of a sale when pressed during a conference call, and said that DaimlerChrsyler would be looking at various options, including "structural changes". Chrysler recorded a loss of €1.2bn in the third quarter of 2006.
