Inspicio is to acquire Eclipse Scientific, the Cambridgeshire-based provider of chemical and microbiological testing services, from Clearbrook Capital Partners for £47m. Mark Silver, Chief Executive of Inspicio plc said: "The acquisition of Eclipse, one of Europe's leading independent analytical testing laboratories, provides a platform from which Inspicio can expand its current operations to include an international food testing division. We believe that a number of synergies exist between Inspicio and Eclipse and the acquisition will further enhance our position as a market leader in the provision of inspection and testing services." The deal is being funded via £22m of new debt and £30m of new ordinary shares. Eclipse focuses on the analysis of food, pharmaceutical, water, environmental and agrochemical testing.
