Fiat is to embark upon a drastic shake up in a bid to cut borrowings and reduce excess capacity. The overhaul will lead to €2bn of disposals, a €1bn rights issue and the issue of €2.2bn of bonds tied to Fiat's 5.7 per cent stake in General Motors.
