Flytxt, the mobile marketing company, has put its agency operations up for sale in a move to shift its focus to the technology side of the business. 

Agnitio Capital, the investment bank specialising in the technology and telecoms industry, is to handle the sale, and reportedly issued an information memorandum to potential buyers on Monday (9th October).

Launched in 2000, Flytxt was one of the first companies to provide outsourced mobile marketing services and achieved success with campaigns such as Orange Wednesdays, the SMS-based two-for-one cinema promotion. 

The company recently received an approach for its US agency operations, which is believed to have influenced the decision to sell. 

Flytxt's technology operations centre on 'Neon', a new initiative enabling advertisers to operate mobile marketing campaigns from their desks via specialist software rather than using an agency.
