Gama Holdings Ltd, an international aviation group, has announced the acquisition of PrivatAir Inc, the US-arm of the PrivatAir Group.Gama, based at Farnborough Airport in the UK, was founded in 1983. The group specialises in business aviation services across the globe including: aircraft ownership, charter services, business aircraft management, medical transport operations and aircraft maintenance.The acquisition of PrivatAir, Inc, bringing the total fleet to over 60 business aircraft, will add significantly to Gama’s expansion into the US market, where it is already present at Teterboro, NJ.Marwan Khalek, Gama’s CEO and founder, said that due to the significant growth over the 25 years they have been in operation, they have expanded in a number of key markets.PrivatAir, Inc. has an excellent reputation throughout the United States, an important market for any international business aviation company.Greg Thomas, PrivatAir CEO, commented that PrivatAir will now concentrate its efforts on its European business. Mr Thomas added that the current buoyancy of the US private aviation market makes it the perfect time to sell the US division.The company will now be rebranded as Gama Aviation, Inc. and will remain based in Stratford, CT. The value of the acquisition has not being disclosed.
