PD Ports has sold H&L Garages, its Mercedes Benz truck dealership with 300 staff at branches in Killingholme, York, Boston, Grantham, Lincoln and Hull, to a management team. MD Brett Whittingham and financial director Peter Worsnup purchased the business for £8.5m with financial backing from private investment vehicle Endless LLP. Whittingham and Worsnup have been with H&L since 2003 and both have significant industry experience. Endless director Philip Tate said: "We believe that H&L is ideally positioned to become the number one Mercedes-Benz commercial franchise and take advantage of the ambitious growth strategy of Mercedes-Benz." PD Ports is part of Australian infrastructure firm Babcock & Brown.
