Halabi to sell £1.8bn property portfolio
19/09/2006
Property tycoon Simon Halabi has put a property portfolio worth £1.8bn onto the market, the largest ever to be for sale in the UK. Halabi is selling seven assets in London, including the 23-storey Aviva Tower in EC3, Alban Gate in EC2 and the 560,000 sq. ft. Bankside Estate. Mr Halabi purchased the Aviva Tower for £225m in 2003 and it is now thought to be worth over £400m. Although he is to sell the bulk of his £2.5m assets, Halabi will retain some properties such as the King's Reach complex on the South Bank, and is rumoured to be looking at making several new acquisitions. The niche property advisors BH2 have reportedly been hired to advise on the sale.
