Hicks, Muse could put biscuit business up for sale
24/11/2006
UK biscuit maker Burton's Foods could reportedly be put up for sale after owners Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst hired Stamford Partners to conduct a strategic review of the business. The US private equity group bought Burton's for £130m in 2000 from Associated British Foods. A sale could fetch up to £300m. Burton's brands include Jammie Dodgers and Wagon Wheels, and it also produces chocolate biscuits for Cadbury's.
