Internacionale, the Glasgow-based chain of 147 Au Naturale homewares and Internacionale fashion stores, has undergone a £45m management buy-out backed by Penta Capital.The deal, which is one of Scotland's largest for 2006, will bring a windfall of £30m for owner and major shareholder Ken Cairnduff. The company was formed in 1979 as Razzle Dazzle Limited, and was squbsequentl renamed The State of Independence before becoming Internacionale in 1997. Chief executive Norrie Stewart led the buyout, along with Graham Clements, Gerard Gavan and David Milton. Strong results for 2006 showed a 21 percent increase in profits and the elimination of net debt. The company ended the year with net funds of £1.6m.
