Invensys is considering a new disposal programme if growing pension liabilities and falling sales combine to lead it to break its banking covenants. The largest disposal would be the sale of the Development division, which has annual sales of about £700m and operating profits of £60m. Two of the divisions four businesses, rail systems and wind turbines are in growth markets, two others are in power equipment for the telecmmunications markets which have been struggling.
