Iranian businessman may purchase UK care home operators
07/03/2006
An Iranian businessman has declared an interest in the sale of two of the UK’s major care home operators. Entrepreneur Vincent Tchenguiz has expressed an interest in purchasing both Four Seasons Healthcare and Paragon Health Care. Iranian Tcheguiz split from Rotch Property, a twenty year partnership with his brother Robert, in 2003, and now operates independently. The dealmaker is reported to be in talks with the management of Four Seasons, which with 446 homes and around 21,154 beds stands as the third largest care provider in the UK. The company is said to be worth around £1 billion. Also in the running to purchase Four Seasons are private equity groups 3i and HgCapital, with the former rumoured to be the favourite.
