Johnston Group has been approached by various interested parties, even though it has already received a controversial cash-and-share offer from Ennstone, an advisor to the construction company has revealed. Johnston's independent director's have called on shareholders to take no action while they reviewed Ennstone's offer document and investigated "other possible options to maximise value for shareholders". Robert Vartevanian of Close Borthers, who advise the group, said: "We have been contacted by other interested parties. We are not saying that there are other offers but we are doing everything that one could expect to maximise shareholder value."
