Jones The Bootmaker - Business Sale

Jones the Bootmaker, the UK-based retail footwear group, has been put up for sale, according to chief executive ken Bartle, Bartle said he had not set a price for the chain, which comprises 75 stores. However, Bartle confirmed he is looking to sell, and that he would prefer to sell to an MBO team. Grant Thornton is advising. Chief operating officer Vasek Jelinek is negotiating the acquisition of owners Bartle and Peter Philips. Jones posted turnover of approximately £65m in 2004.
