Kappa Packaging, the UK packaging business owned by Cinven and CVC Capital Partners, is currently taking first round bids, a source familiar with the packaging industry and a private equity source said. Both sources mentioned trade players Mondi, SCA and Smurfit as being among the potential bidders. However it is thought that a recapitalisation of the business is more likely.
