Kidde - Business Sale

Shareholders in Kidde, the fire protection group, have indicated they would be prepared to sell out if United Technologies Corporation (UTC), the US industrial conglomerate, increase its takeover offer from 160p to 180p a share. There is speculation that a rival bid may materialise.
