Kingfisher is in talks to sell VCI, its video and publishing offshoot, for between £40m and £50m. The sale of VCI is part of the plans for a full demerger of the Kingfisher group and is believed to have attracted a mixture of trade and venture capital buyers. Meanwhile Kingfisher's talks with Kruidvat, the Dutch retailer bidding for the Superdrug health and beauty chain, are believed to be hanging in the balance after Kruidvat refused to pay the £300 million-plus being sought for the chain.
