Rok has acquired Kingfisher Building Company, the West Midlands-based social housing company with about 50 staff, for £4.5m. The deal comprises a £3.4m cash consideration, of which £1.1m is subject to Kingfisher's performance for the year end 31 Dec 2006, and a further £1.1m in shares. Garvis Snook, CEO of Rok, commented "We are delighted that such a high quality business as Kingfisher has chosen to join Rok. This acquisition will provide the financial backing to enable Kingfisher to expand its service offering to other social housing organisations in the Midlands. It will also further strengthen Rok's growing presence in this important sector of the market and is a further step towards Rok's goal of being the Nation's Local Builder. "
