The Northern Irish construction company Lagan Group is tipped to dispose of its asphalt and quarrying division. Quarrying accounts for around 25% of the group's revenues and was Lagan's original business activity when it was founded almost 50 years ago. The company operates ten quarries throughout Ireland, which produce over 3.6 tonnes per year. An information memorandum is expected to be issued shortly. In 2005, Lagan reported a turnover of £299m.
