Linde is expected to dispose of its material handling division in the case of a successful takeover agreement with British BOC. Should Linde succeed with its plan to acquire industrial gases business BOC, the materials handling division would be put up for sale in order to finance part of the takeover price. Linde reportedly has bid EUR 11bn for BOC but the offer was rejected by BOC's management. Linde plans to finance 40% of the takeover sum with credits, and the rest would be financed by way of a capital increase and the sale of the materials handling division. Linde, however, has not confirmed this. The materials handling division is expected to be worth around EUR 3bn in case of a sale.
