Live Nation/Academy merger could lead to disposals
26/01/2007
The proposed merger between Live Nation and Academy Music Group could lead to the sale of some of London's most high profile music venues. The Competition Commission has ruled that Live Nation must dispose of either the Hammersmith Apollo or the Forum, while Academy must sell the Shepherd's Bush Empire or Brixton Academy. Live Nation, which owns its venues through the Mean Fiddler subsidiary, also owns the Astoria and Wembley Arena.
