LK Bennett to be put up for sale

Fashion retailer LK Bennett is to be put on the market, according to reports that owner Linda Bennett has hired the investment bank Rothschild to advise her on a sale of the business.
The move to sell has come after IT investment and other strategic improvements, and is also thought to have been prompted by the recent capital Gains tax changes, which would mean a higher tax bill on a sale completed after April.
Bennet has tried to sell the business before, but a sale was not completed in 2004 as buyers were not keen on the business's £75m price tag.
Improvements on profits mean that L K Bennett is expected to be put on the market this time for around £150m.
