The chief executive of Lonmin, the London and Johannesburg-listed platinum producer, has clarified that the business is not for sale in the wake of recent speculation. Brad Mills said that although the company had received a number of takeover approaches, none of these had resulted into a deal. However, he would be open to considering high offers for the business. Lonmin was believed to have been in discussion with South African company Gold Fields earlier in the year.
