Lucite, the global maker of acrylic-based products such as Perspex, may be put on the market with a price tag of up to £1.3bn.It is expected that investment banks Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch will be hired to assess the group's options which will include a sale and a flotation of the business.Potential bidders for the London-based Lucite include Japanese company Mitsubishi Rayon, who is thought to have approached the company in the past, Dow Chemical of the US, BASF of Germany and Japanese company Asahi Kasei.
