Ashtead Group has acquired Lux Traffic Controls, the Wiltshire-based supplier of traffic control systems with a nationwide network of 44 depots, for £16m. The deal is subject to a downwards-only adjustment in the event that Lux's net assets at 30th September 2006 are valued at less than £4.25m. Lux will be integrated into the traffic unit of A-Plant, Ashtead's non-operated equiptment rental division. The new unit will be renamed A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management. Laurence Lux, who founded the business in 1966, will not remain with the company.
