Maiden is looking for a trade sale

Maiden, the UK-listed billboard advertising company, is planning for an MBO bid or trade sale. NM Rothschild, is believed to be sounding out potential trade bidders including Clearchannel and Viacom, the US-based media groups, and JC Decaux, the French outdoor advertising company. Buyout groups are expected to show an interest in Maiden. Maiden is now worth just £43m. Maiden is hoping to find a buyer in the New Year. Maiden said it anticipates an operating loss for 2005. The company said it was technically in breach of its banking covenant levels, but that it was negotiating with its banks. Maiden's market capitalization stands at £38.7m.
