Access Intelligence is to acquire Management Services 2000 (MS2M), the York-based developer of compliance software for the financial services industry with nine staff, for an initial £1.95m to be paid in cash and shares. Access will also pay a defrerred consideration of up to £2.5m, depending on MS2M's operating profits over the next two years. Jerry Hamer, chairman of Access Intelligence, commented that the acquisition represented "another excellent acquisition for Access Intelligence. With the increasing compliance requirements both in UK and the European Union, we believe that MS2M has tremendous growth opportunities particularly in the UK where its "Virtual Compliance Officer" helps companies comply with the Financial Services Authority's regulatory requirements." Access will fund the acquisition with the placing of 25 million new shares at six pence each, worth £1.5m.
