Mayborn, the supplier of baby products, is to be acquired by Jake Acquisitions, a 3i subsidiary, for £116m. Mayborn, whose brands include Tommee Tippee, is to pay 500p a share in cash. Shares in Mayborn, which also owns the Dylon fabric dyes business, rose 16.5p to 497.5p. The deal, recommended by the board and backed by 53% of Mayborn's shareholders, will see its Tube Plastics arm, which makes play equipment, split off.
