Melrose, the Aim-traded cash shell, has withdrawn its approach for Mayflower, the bus manufacturer which was recently placed into administration. It indicated that it may still be interested acquiring company assets. Mayflower hopes to raise £50m from selling its US MVS parts-pressing business, which is not in administration. It has retained R W Baird to find a buyer.
