UK housebuilder McCarthy & Stone is in talks with private equity consortia Permira/ Barclays Capital and Augusta Capital over the sale of the company. McCarthy & Stone is estimated to be worth over £900m, due to the strong performance of the housebuilding sector over the last six months. Permira and Barclays Capital are being advised by Citigroup, while NM Rothschild are advising Augusta. UBS will handle the sale.
