Merlin Entertainments, the group that owns the Londeon Dungeon and the Sea Life Aquariums, has appointed the corporate finance boutique Hawkpoint to examine the options for a sale. Apax, the private equity firm, is the main backer of the company and is behind the decision to sell. It is thought the company is worth around £100m.
